Another new website design for Chris’s Sign Service

Our client Chris’s Sign Service was looking to update their website to a new look. Chris’s Sign Service is a locally based sign service, design and maintenance company that has been in business for over 20 years. The owner Chris Davies, was looking to add additional functionality, such as a blog, to keep his customers current, integrating an email newsletter, adding facebook and twitter updates etc.

In addition, Chris wanted us to create a Service App that would allow his customers to easily submit a service request, complete with pictures, right from their iphones. This app is in development, and should be released soon.

Destination Tours

In the past few weeks we’ve been working hard on Destination Tours website, adding and updating their spring/summer 2012 tours lineup. So we though that we’d mention some of the new tours that they have just released – fun and fantastic Wine Tours in BC. Their tour lineup includes:

The Volvo Lady

I was contacted by Marie Gibbons of Valley Imports several months ago, requesting a quote on a website redesign. Checked out the existing site at www.volvolady.com and had a pleasant surprise, this was a website I had frequented way back in 2002-2004 when I had been looking around for a new car! I had admired the site and her business concept back then, even though I never did end up buying a Volvo. In fact, I never did end up going to her lot in Abbotsford, so had never met Marie in person. Anyway, when looking at the site I could see it hadn’t changed much and Marie, known as “the Volvo Lady” was looking to completely redesign it.

Marie is a very interesting lady and she sure knows her Volvos. I was so impressed by the way she operates her business, and blown away by the quality of the vehicles she sells. She has such passion for Volvos, and that passion and knowledge is certainly passed on to her valued customers. It was an honor to redesign her site, incorporating some of her ‘quirkiness’ and to learn about her story.

With the new volvolady.com website built using WordPress, Marie can now go in and add her own inventory by herself, without having to ask a designer to add listings for her. She is also able to edit pages as necessary, and easily mark her inventory sold as soon as it leaves the lot!

Doorcare Website Launched

A Creative Team was approached by Dave at Doorcare last year to design their new company logo for Doorcare. They weren’t quite ready to launch their website yet, but they approached us in September about creating a website for them.

Their requirements? They wanted the website to represent their established image as well as compliment their new logo. The site had to be easy to use, and provide customers with easy to access web forms for requesting quotes and service, and to contact Doorcare directly.

We were very impressed with Doorcare’s helpful and efficient service staff, as we had them install new garage doors at our house. Would happily recommend Doorcare to anyone looking to improve the value of their home by renovating and included fresh, new energy efficient garage doors!

Welcome to our new website

Why is it that a designer’s website, often falls onto the backburner? Well I guess its the same as the old adage, “The shoemaker’s children always go without shoes.” A Creative Team is a partnership of logo designer, Brad Johnson and web designer, Teresa Beere Johnson, and for us the same goes. With so much time spent creating websites for clients, our own has really fallen by the wayside over the past few years.

Well finally I’ve disciplined myself and focused a block of time on reworking our site onto my favorite platform, WordPress. WordPress is such a great system for building one’s site on, I am now creating most of my web projects on this platform, along with the occasional Joomla site. These are both wonderful open source platforms on which to build a great and functional web presence.
